Trader Joe's 85% Tumaco Columbian

Trader Joe's 85% Cacao "the dark Chocolate Lover's Chocolate Bar" is tasty... but it's too small. I have 2 or 3 small "wafer thin" squares around lunch, and another 2 or 3 around dinner, and you do this 4 or 5 days in a row, and the bar is all gone!

Indeed the 85% is better for my health than the 72% thick Belgian "1 Pound" bar, but the 1 pounder (found over the freezer section at my local Trader Joes) lasts longer, is about 4 times thicker, and is more satisfying.

There's a 75% 3-pack mini chocolate bar, sold in the check-out aisles, ideal for gifting to your US Mail Carrier, or taking on short trips, which is also good.

Dr Desert Flower's favorite Trader Joe's chocolate are the "Trader Joe's Dark Chocolate Mocha Crunch Squares" 70% cacao. They are yummy, but they stick to my teeth, so I'll leave them to my better half. Ingredients include: cacao dark chocolate (chocolate liquor, sugar, cocoa butter, vanilla extract), mocha (sugar, rice syrup, butter [milk], coconut oil, coffee, caramel color, soy lecithin) - 60 calories, 12.7 grams each each; calories per gram: 9 fat, 4 carb, and 4 protein.

Not expensive. Good for your heart. Nice anti-oxidants, and soooo delicious.

  1. How does "mocha" get to be its own ingredient? Isn't mocha a flavor?
