This interrogator (pseudonym "Matthew Alexander") was able to extract intelligence that lead to the location and missile targeting of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in 2006, not through torture, but instead, through gaining the trust of the prisoner he was interrogating.
"How anyone can say that torture keeps Americans safe is beyond me -- unless you don't count American soldiers as Americans."

NPR had this interrogator on "Talk of the Nation" today (December 4th). The veteran spoke clearly, succinctly, intelligently, and dissected each detractor who called in to challenge him.
