Chateau Bellevue For $10

We picked up a $10 bottle of Château Bellevue Bordeaux 2008, Appellation Bordeaux Controlie, at Total Wine earlier this month. It's a negotiant wine (Mis En Bouteille par H.B. A.F. 33500 194 Gironde) but it's also a Alfio Moriconi selection, and I've found that I can trust Alfio. As Total Wine's European buyer, he's got good taste.

I've not been able to find many reviews of this wine online, but I enjoyed it. Nice mineral finish. Wonderful Bordeaux for $10. The French have raised their prices over the last 2 years, but this one has still not broken the $10 ceiling. I hope it remains inexpensive, as I like to keep a bottle or 2 or 3 in my wine rack.

  1. We had some Cloudy Bay Friday. Excellent sitting on the porch wine, plus we got it for $16 which was a total score.

We had a picnic Friday with some Manchengo - our first of this year. We then proceeded to blow off the party we were supposed to go to, but that worked out well too. After a bottle of wine, driving is just not really an option.

I'll pick some Chateau Bellevue- I think the wine discount center has this wine. If not, I've got a guy.

Over the last few weeks I've had the opportunty to have some excellent wine. I'll update you soon. We had an excellent Merlot, and a few good spanish wines. We payed up a bit, but usually we stick to the under $10 crew.
