I read this story today, and it gave me a glimmer of hope for the American Judicial system and American Justice. Combined with ATA's recent apology to the Irfan family for the Airline's inane banning of them from a flight, and the shit storm of controversy that followed, this instance helps to restore my faith, despite Jane Mayer's fastidious destruction of any hope I had for justice in America in her exhaustively detailed "The Dark Side" which I finished reading last night - highly recommended if you want to see how relentlessly EVIL Cheney and his lawyer Addington truly are.
Jet Blue, which from what I have heard and read (but have not yet flown) is supposed to be a pretty nice, pretty progressive, rather friendly airline, stupidly and hysterically (not funny hysterics, but rather, not thinking straight hysterics) forced passenger Raed Jarrar in 2006 to cover up his T-shirt because it read "لن نسكت "- [In English, translated to "We Will Not Be Silent" - also known as the slogan of famous anti-Nazi group, The White Rose ]. The ACLU, who have defended liberals like Rush Limbaugh back in 2004, helped Jarrar to receive a $240K settlement from US Transportation Security Authority officials and from JetBlue Airways.
Just 2 more weeks... 2 more weeks... and hopefully, the dark nightmare we've been in for the last 8 years will start to become a thing of the past. 2 more weeks... I hope the U.S. can make it.
