Delicious

Yesterday, I had a small bowl of cereal in the morning, and then did not eat the entire day, got busy doing lots of other things, and then Dr. Desert Flower and I went out for a nice Birthday dinner at Atlas Bistro in Scottsdale. It's a small, 10 table European style restaurant adjacent to a nice wine shop. Food was superb. Service was friendly. We each took the 4 course meal, and man-o-man was it worth the day long fast.

starter: Penn Cove Mussels & Manila Clams, Grilled Chorizo Tomato Broth, Crostini
soup: Heirloom Yellow Tomato Bisque with Nueske Bacon and Manchego Grilled Cheese
entree: Maple Leaf Ginger Duck Breast, Crispy Skin, Herb Risotto Cake, Hibiscus Red Wine Reduction
dessert: Lemon Cheese Cake with crispy chocolate crusts and fresh blue berry garnish

...which I paired with a (BYOB) 1996 Château LaCroix Pomerol from
Famille Joseph JANOUEIX

Dr. Desert Flower had Pheasant, served like the duck (which they had run out of, along with the rabbit, sadly). So incredibly tasty. Chef Carlos
Manriquez even came out to ask us how the meal was.

2 of the best 4 meals I've had in Arizona have now been at Atlas Bistro. Highly recommended.
