Montana Elk, Sept 7th

Dr Desert Flower took some beautiful photos of Elk near the northern entrance to Yellowstone National Park in Montana.  The large herbivores were nearly close enough to the car to reach out and pet - which we did not do, since there were many rangers nearby, we didn't want to "molest" them, the elk are fairly 'wild' and rutting season was approaching with lots of males around.   We didn't want a bull elk to try and join us in the convertible!  =)
