Jasmine Lemon

Once again, this year, our lemon tree has gone nuts, covered in blooms.  As I mentioned last year, we had an awesome aroma filling the back yard in January & February.  Sadly, March has a frost that wiped out the majority of the young blossoms.

This year, there's 100s of the blooms, exuding a fragrance similar to jasmine.  When I've been doing yoga poolside, or sitting on the patio reading or sipping wine and watching the hummingbirds, the intoxicating scent saturates the back yard.  Delicious.  refreshing.  Invigorating.

If we can avoid another March frost this year, there will be a bumper crop of lemons next year.   This year, we have just a few dozen, and as the blooms are maturing, the 2011 crop needs to be harvested very soon.

I wish there was some way to convey how beautiful the scent of this lemon tree is, to the reader.   Until you smell it yourself..  There's really no way to describe it.   Come visit us in Arizona, and you can smell for yourself.
