Joe loses the "Douche Off"

This made me laugh. Many memorable quotes in this video.

  1. Joe, I feel you are not marketing your Joeness well enough. First Joe Biden, then this, and now "Joe the Plumber" is a famous Joe: ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFC9jv9jfoA ). We need a Joe the Engineer branding and cross-marketing campaign, incorporating mainly viral but also traditional vectors. I hope you can regain your standing as the top provider of Joe-related content.

  2. Well, when I was shopping at Trader Joe's (http://www.traderjoes.com/) looking for some "Caves de Josef" $6 a bottle delicious Bordeaux, I ran into Bazooka Joe (www.bazookajoe.com/). I said "Hey Joe!" (though he did not have a gun in his hand http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2qRKy36dL4 ) and asked him what happened to his eye (II don't remember an eye patch, fromthe TOPPS cards when I was a kid). He told me that he and 'Joe Six Pack' (not to be confused with http://www.joesixpack.net/ ) were having an argument about who was a more 'average Joe', which ended up with Six Pack saying "Joe Mama!". That ended the jovial tone (ba-dum-pish!) of the discourse, while they were 'jammin in Joe's garage' (http://www.amazon.com/Joes-Garage-Acts-II-III/dp/B0000009SY), a drum-stick tip broke off and flew up, hitting Joe Bazooka in the eye, which resulted in the eye patch being recommended by his ophthalmologist. But I digress...

The problem with launching such a campaign though Ron, is there's already significant Joe-ification on "the internets". You've got the monthly JOE report http://www.aeaweb.org/joe/ sent out almost every month. The "artist" Joe, who must be very chilly since he wears a hoodie inside ( http://www.joescrib.com/ ) has his own fan base, and the Joecartoons ( http://www.joecartoon.com/games/16 ) and all the coffee references ( http://www.joetheartofcoffee.com/ ). There's a significant data stream of Joe-related content out there today. Il faut voir... parkalam (Tamil)... ya veremos (espanol)... wir mussen sehen (Deutsch)... dekhenge (Hindi).

  3. So you're saying it's difficult to build and sustain Joementum.

I still don't like that that six-pack guy the republicans keep talking about, whoever he is, has coopted your Joeness.

Can't you be Joe Bordeaux or something like that?

  4. Dr. Desert Flower has already called me "The Joe" and "Joe Bordeaux" - so both you and a gorgeous geneticist have arrived at the same conclusion. "Joe Bordeaux" the silent film actor (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0096094/) has his own cult following. This blog however is "Just JoeP" ... be it
    • JUST (adjective)
The adjective JUST has 4 senses:
    1. used especially of what is legally or ethically right or proper or fitting
    2. implying justice dictated by reason, conscience, and a natural sense of what is fair to all
    3. free from favoritism or self-interest or bias or deception; or conforming with established standards or rules
    4. of moral excellence
    or...
    • JUST (adverb)
The adverb JUST has 5 senses:
    1. and nothing more
    2. indicating exactness or preciseness
    3. only a moment ago
    4. absolutely
    5. by a small margin
    (http://www.audioenglish.net/dictionary/just.htm)
I think it does indeed apply.

Joementum is difficult to sustain in a non isotropic system. Perhaps in a frictionless, absolutely pure vacuum, without any radiation or absorption, Joementum sustainability would be easier (or a constantly increasing value perhaps?) but then, it wouldn't be as much fun.
